Boston University Online Certified Management Accountant Exam Prep


Course Outline

In alliance with changes announced by the Institute of Certified Management Accountants (IMCA), Boston University announces its new two-part Certified Management Accountant (CMA) online exam preparation program. Like the CMA exam itself, the Boston University CMA program is changing from a four-part program to a two-part program, focusing more on financial planning, analysis, control and decision support. The new CMA exam will be offered beginning May 1, 2010, while the current four-part examination will be offered until December 31, 2010. Boston University will offer both the new two-part and current four-part programs through the end of 2010, after which only the two-part program will be offered going forward. The New 2-Part Online CMA Exam Preparation Program consists of two instructor facilitated exam prep courses, which correspond to Parts 1 and 2 of the new ICMA exams. If you have not passed any parts of the Current 4-part Exam, it is recommended that you enroll in the New 2-part Exam program. Students may take OL-CMA101 or OL-CMA102 in any order. OL-CMA101 - Online CMA Part 1: Financial Planning, Performance and Control

What is included in Part 1?
  • Planning, Budgeting, and Forecasting - 30% (Level C)
  • Performance Management - 25% (Level C)
  • Cost Management - 25% (Level C)
  • Internal Controls - 15% (Level C)
  • Professional Ethics - 5% (Level C)
  • Who should enroll?
    Candidates preparing for Part 1 of the Certified Management Accountant (CMA) Exam. In addition, this course would be beneficial for anyone looking to advance their management career.

    OL-CMA102 - Online CMA Part 2: Financial Decision Making

    What is included in Part 2?
  • Financial Statement Analysis - 25% (Level C)
  • Corporate Finance - 25% (Level C)
  • Decision Analysis and Risk Management - 25% (Level C)
  • Investment Decisions - 20% (Level C)
  • Professional Ethics - 5% (Level C)
  • Who should enroll?
    Candidates preparing for Part 2 of the Certified Management Accountant (CMA) Exam. In addition, this course would be beneficial for anyone looking to advance their management career.
