Boston University Online Program for Financial Planners is approved for Active
Military GI Bill and Veteran's Educational Benefits. Every year hundreds of service
members enroll in the BU financial planner program to advance their civilian career,
while in the military. To help them prepare with minimum financial burden, Boston
University offers eligible service members a $105 tuition discount on individual courses and $600 tuition discount on the full program. In addition
to reduced tuition rates, you may also be eligible to receive certificate in financial
planning from Boston University.
Follow the relevant instructions below for more details on the application process.
Active Servicemembers
To enroll in this program through active duty coverage, please:
- Contact your Tuition Assistance (TA) office and request the necessary paperwork
- Determine the amount of financial assistance that is available to you
- Fax forms to our Customer Service Department at: 617-443-0991
The paperwork must include:
- The total amount of the course/program after discount: individual
courses are $420.00/each and full program cost is $1995.00.
- The institution/school should be noted as: Boston University
- The necessary signatures, as requested on the
Request for Tuition Assistance Form (applicant, unit commander or
authorized representative, and the education services officer)
- The address where the invoice for the tuition
and enrollment fee should be sent. If the military is paying only a
portion of the cost of this course/program, please indicate how you
would like to pay for the residual amount. The invoice will be sent from
Boston University to the military address noted in the paperwork.
- Your email address and
desired password. Your password can be any combination of numbers and
letters (case sensitive, between 5-12 characters).
Once we receive the
completed paperwork and invoicing confirmation, we will register
and enroll you in the course and/or program you've selected. You
will receive an email notification upon enrollment and will have unlimited
online access to the course/program for a period of 18 months.
Not included in the tuition cost: seven individual textbooks which you can purchase
online at any time from our bookstore page.
In order to complete the program in 18 months you will needs to spend
approximately 8 - 10 hours per week studying.

Veterans
The Boston University Online
Program for Financial Planners program is covered under the GI Bill as
long as you have sufficient credits available in your GI
fund.
To enroll in the program and
receive reimbursement through the GI Bill, please:
- Fill out the proper paperwork (VA 22-1990) with the government and send it to the Department of Veterans Affairs. You can find and print out the form (VA 22-1990) for the VA office at:
http://www.gibill.va.gov/
- Contact an enrollment advisor at 1-800-329-4996 to purchase and enroll in the program
- Send a copy of the paperwork to Boston University
Boston University will then send your
paperwork and order confirmation to the government. They will
reimburse you directly for the program.
