Virtual Classroom FAQ:

What is the difference between the Virtual Classroom package and the Self-Paced online program?
The Boston University Online Program for Financial Planning teaches a comprehensive online version of the core curriculum which is required to sit for the CFP® Certification Examination. The Virtual Classroom session is an optional, but highly recommended, add-on that allows students both to progress at a much higher speed and successfully complete the core curriculum more easily and efficiently. Virtual Classroom sessions are scheduled to synch with CFP Board exam dates and follow a timeline which allows students to finish in 9 months. On the other hand, the online, self-paced program gives students complete flexibility over their schedule and pace of progress.

Can I enroll for the Virtual Classroom sessions if I have already started and/or completed some of the online courses?
Students who are currently enrolled in Boston University's Online Program for Financial Planning can either purchase and join the current Virtual Classroom session or wait to begin on the next upcoming one. If the session has begun, students will be given archived access to past lectures to use as often as they like. However, you must have at least 9 months of access left on your online course or you will need to purchase an extension. Please call 800-329-4996 for further details.

Can I enroll in a single course with its corresponding Virtual Classroom session?
Yes! Just as the core online curriculum can be purchased individually, the corresponding Virtual Classroom session can also be purchased one-at-a-time. Please call 800-329-4996 for assistance.

What if I am not able to participate in some Virtual Classroom sessions after enrolling?
Students will have access to our archive library with all the past sessions for up to eighteen months or until their online course access expires. Students may use the archives as often as they wish.

I am not a student in Boston University's program. Can I still enroll for the Virtual Classroom sessions?
The Virtual Classroom sessions cannot be taken without the Boston University Online Program for Financial Planning. It is designed to help you successfully complete the existing educational requirement from Boston University.

Is the Boston University Online Program the best available?
We believe so! If you explore our competitor's options, we believe you will also find it to be a better value.
