About Carolynn Tomin, CFP®, Program Director:

Carolynn is a Certified Financial Planner™ professional who specializes in financial education. She is the Program Director for Boston Universitys classroom and online Program for Financial Planning and has augmented the development of BUs online program for the past eight years.

Carolynn has taught estate planning courses and CFP® Certification Exam reviews for the past seventeen years at Boston University, Merrimack College and Northeastern University in Massachusetts, and for Florida Gulf Coast University and Keir Educational Resources. She has also taught estate planning and financial planning courses for banks and corporations such as Merrill Lynch, Smith Barney, Fleet Bank, Bank Boston, Fifth Third Bank, Harvard University, Fidelity Investments, MetLife, John Hancock and Wasmer, Schroeder & Co. As cofounder of a financial education company, Beacon Hill Financial Educators, Carolynn wrote and presented continuing education courses on CFP Boards Standards of Professional Conduct for many financial service firms, NAPFA and the FPA. Former positions include Director of Financial Planning Programs at Merrimack College, and Regional Director of the Social Security Disability Program in Massachusetts.

Carolynn was appointed to CFP Boards Council on Education in 2008 for a three year term. She has been a member of the FPA for many years, and has served on the Board of Directors for the southwest Florida chapter of the FPA. She is also a former member of the Boston Estate Planning Council.
