Funding Options

Boston University Center for Professional Education offers personal financing for non-credit Professional Certification Courses, including the Online Retirement Management Program from Wells Fargo's Connection Loan.

Loan Requirements
  • Students can use the Wells Fargo Education Connection Loan to cover their education costs if they are enrolled for less than half-time (retirement management students must select “part-time,” not full time when applying)
  • It is intended for non-credit courses
  • Students should be applying for financing from Wells Fargo directly and not through Boston University or Boston Institute of Finance
  • Connection Loans do not require a school to certify enrollment. It is furnished upon credit approval
  • Students must select "multiple course certificate program" when applying
  • Regsitration must occur prior to applying for funds and students will be required to submit proof of registration for successful processing of the loan
Maximum amount allowed
A student can borrow up to $25,000 per school year, based on the school they are attending. The aggregate loan limit is $100,000 including all other educational debt. The student is required to certify the amount they are borrowing.

APR & Fees:
Competitive variable annual percentage rate based on credit worthiness. Applying with a co-signer may reduce the interest rate. 2% Origination Fee.

Other Benefits
  • No payments until the student leaves school
  • No payments are due until six months after you leave school
  • The funds go directly to the student in one lump sum to use for tuition and other education-related expenses
  • 0.50% rate reduction at repayment upon verification of graduation with the Wells Fargo Student Graduation BenefitSM Program
  • 0.25% interest rate reduction when the student sets up an automatic payment from a personal checking or savings account

Eligibility
The student must:

  • be enrolled at an eligible school seeking a degree, certificate, or license
  • have a cosigner or meet credit history, income and employment requirements
  • be a U.S. citizen, U.S. national or permanent resident alien without conditions with a current U.S. address and proper evidence of eligibility. (For permanent resident aliens, a U.S. citizen must cosign the loan)
